The Grizzly Gazette June 17 – 21

Dear Gibson Families,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for your fantastic support on Sports Day last Friday. Your enthusiasm and participation truly made the day special for our students.

Thank you for helping your children decorate their wheels and ensuring they remembered their helmets—it made the parade of wheels a colorful and safe event. Despite the brief rain at the start, your positivity helped encourage the sun to shine later in the day!

A special thank you goes to our PAC for their invaluable support with freezies and the concession stand. Your efforts not only provided treats for our families, but also helped bring our community closer together.

Once again, your support and involvement are deeply appreciated. Here’s to more wonderful events together!

Additionally, I want to wish all fathers in our community a wonderful day filled with joy and appreciation. Your role in shaping our students’ lives is invaluable, and we celebrate your dedication and love for your children.

Electric Scooters

It has been brought to our attention that electric kick scooters should not be used by students travelling to school or while on school grounds.

Despite their popularity in our province, electric kick scooters remain illegal for use on public roads, bike lanes and sidewalks across most of B.C., except in a handful of cities that are taking part in a pilot program to test the use of them. The City of Delta is not part of the pilot program. Even in the pilot program cities, it is illegal for a person under 16 years of age to operate an electric kick scooter. You can view the provincial rules here: Electric Kick Scooter Pilot Project Regulation.

As we have several students using scooters currently, we felt it was important to share this information with you. We thank you for your attention to this matter.
