Did you know that when you buy something from Cobs bread you can help our school raise money? Simply mention Gibson Elementary and Cobs will give a percentage to our PAC.

 

As Halloween approaches, I will ask parents to think about costumes that are appropriate. I will ask parents to remember that clothing or costumes of nationalities and subcultures that you do not belong to should never be a costume. I will also remind parents that costumes inspired by traumatic events for people should be avoided as well. Some costumes that should be avoided include costumes that are inspired by someone’s mental health, sexual orientation, and traumatic historical events. Parents should know that costumes that have anything to do with COVID-19 should be avoided.

Please also remember that…

  • costumes should not be too scary
  • toy weapons should be kept at home

Please speak with your child’s teacher, if you have any questions about if your child’s costume would be suitable for school.

 

The primary classes will be participating in a Halloween Parade at 1:45 on Halloween. The parade will end in the gym where parents are welcome to be and take photos.

 

 

  • Items will be either $1 or $2. Please bring your loonies and twoonies. All proceeds will go to grade 7 camp.

 

  • Nov 8 – Diwali Assembly at 9:15. Parents are welcome to attend. Students are encouraged to dress for the occasion.
  • Nov 9 – Remembrance Day Assembly at 10:40. Parents are welcome to attend.
