The Grizzly Gazette Oct 3 – Oct 6

Dear Parents and Families,

Thank you to all of you who came out to our first PAC meeting of the year. It was great to see so many parents attend. Please mark your calendars for our next PAC meeting on Oct 18th.

FSAs for grade 4s and 7s

I recently sent out an information letter regarding FSAs. If you have questions about the FSA, the Delta School District is hosting an information night for parents on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at 7pm. This is an online session. To attend, please register at:

World Teachers Day is Oct 5th. Please encourage your child to thank a teacher that day. It would make their day!

Parent-teacher interviews will be on Oct 11 and 12. More information about making appointments will be coming soon. Please note that students will be dismissed at 2 p.m. on both days.

More information to come but we plan on having a costume parade in the afternoon on Halloween for students in grades kindergarten to grade 3.

As Halloween approaches, I will ask parents to think about costumes that are appropriate. I will ask parents to remember that clothing or costumes of nationalities and subcultures that you do not belong to should never be a costume. I will also remind parents that costumes inspired by traumatic events for people should be avoided as well. Some costumes that should be avoided include costumes that are inspired by someone’s mental health, sexual orientation, and traumatic historical events. Parents should know that costumes that have anything to do with COVID-19 should be avoided.

Please also remember that…

  • costumes should not be too scary
  • toy weapons should be kept at home

Please speak with your child’s teacher, if you have any questions about if your child’s costume would be suitable for school.
