Dear Families,

We want to start by thanking you for all of your support during the first few days of school. It has been wonderful to see students settling in and routines getting established. We also greatly appreciate your continued efforts to get students to school on time. Arriving by 8:55 AM is important so that students don’t miss valuable morning instructions and can start their day ready to learn.

If you need to pick up your child early, we would appreciate a quick email or phone call in the morning to let us know. We also ask that parents try to avoid pick-ups during 10:20 to 10:35 AM and 12:00 to 12:50 PM, as students are often outside at these times and it can be challenging to locate them.

Thank you again for your partnership in making the start of the school year smooth and successful for all students.

 

 

School Parking Lot

We continue to notice that some parents are entering the school parking lot during drop-off and pick-up, despite multiple signs and our gate being partially closed. We want to remind everyone that parents are asked to park on the street and walk their child in during drop-off. Similarly, if you need to pick up or drop something off, please park on the street rather than entering the lot.

These procedures are in place in the spirit of safety for all students, families, and staff. We know it is not always convenient, but we need everyone’s cooperation to keep our school community safe.

Reminder: Individual Photo Day – Monday

A friendly reminder that Monday is individual photo day. We are looking forward to seeing all of our students’ bright faces and best smiles captured.

 

 

Breakfast Club Starts Monday

We are excited to let you know that Breakfast Club will be starting up again on Monday. This year, Breakfast Club will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:15 in Ms. Sonia’s room.

A big thank you to Ms. Sonia and our wonderful team of staff volunteers for making this happen for our students. We are so grateful for the care and effort that goes into making sure our kids start the day with a good breakfast.

 

 

OPEN HOUSE

This is a friendly reminder that our Open House is happening on Tuesday, September 16 from 3:15 to 4:00 PM.

Come and meet your child’s teacher and get familiar with the school building. You can also take part in our scavenger hunt with fun prizes. Prize winners will be announced the following morning.

Please remember that this is not a Parent-Teacher Interview, as teachers are still getting to know your students. Parent-Teacher Interviews will take place later in October.

Ms. Sidhu will also be available to assist parents who need help signing in with Parent Connect.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

TERRY FOX RUN

We are excited to remind you that our Terry Fox Run is happening this Thursday! The event will start with an assembly at 1:00 PM, and parents are very welcome to attend. Right after the assembly, students will take part in the run, with teachers guiding them along a safe route on our school grounds.

As always, we are collecting toonies for Terry to help support the Canadian Cancer Society. Our goal this year is $700, which works out to roughly $2 per student. Please consider sending a toonie with your child to help us reach this goal and support such an important cause.

The Terry Fox Run is always a highlight of the school year. It is a time to celebrate perseverance, community, and hope. We can’t wait to see our students running with energy and spirit for such a meaningful cause.
