The Grizzly Gazette Sept 16 – 20

Dear Parents,

I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to send a reminder about the importance of arriving on time for school. Our bell goes at 8:55 and we’ve noticed that many students have been arriving late, and this really impacts their learning experience.

We know mornings can be hectic for families, but when students arrive late, they miss out on valuable instructional time and it disrupts the classroom. Additionally, it makes things quite busy in the office as we work to get everyone settled.

We truly appreciate your help in ensuring your child arrives on time so they can make the most of their day at school. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!

Remember that photo day is tomorrow, September 16! This is a wonderful opportunity for each student to shine and have their picture taken.

We encourage everyone to bring their biggest smiles, as these photos will become cherished memories for years to come. Please make sure your child is dressed in their favourite outfit and ready to look their best.

BREAKFAST CLUB

We wanted to let you know about our Breakfast Club, which takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:15 AM in the multipurpose room. This program is designed to assist families who may need a little extra help providing breakfast for their children.

Breakfast Club is run thanks to generous donations and the efforts of our dedicated staff volunteers. If you think this could be beneficial for your family, please feel free to join us!

We’re here to support you and ensure every student starts their day with a nutritious meal.

Just a friendly reminder about our Open House on Tuesday, September 17, from 3:15 to 4:00 PM! We’re excited to welcome you to explore the school and see what your child has been up to.

During the event, students will lead you in a fun scavenger hunt around the school, while showing you some of their favourite spots and introducing you to their classroom and teacher. Please note, that this is not a parent-teacher interview; those will be scheduled later in the year.

Also, a quick reminder: our parking lot and roundabout are reserved for staff only. We kindly ask that you park on the street if you’re driving. If possible, consider walking to the event—it’s a great way to enjoy the day and avoid parking hassles.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

THANK YOU TO OUR PAC!!!

We are thrilled to share that our student planners have been generously covered by our School PAC this year! A huge thank you goes out to the PAC for their countless hours of hard work, fundraising efforts, and organizing those delicious hot lunches.

This is just one of the many ways the PAC makes a positive impact, working tirelessly to enhance our school experience for both students and families. Their dedication truly helps make our school a better place for everyone.

We are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support and commitment!

We’re excited to announce that our school is participating in this year’s Terry Fox School Run, and we’re eager to get everyone involved in this important cause.

Our goal is to raise funds for cancer research, and we’re aiming for each student to contribute a “toonie” (a $2 coin) towards our fundraising efforts. Every little bit helps, and together we can make a significant impact in the fight against cancer.

We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of this cause and to help them contribute their toonie. Contributions can be sent in with your child or given to their teacher.

Thank you for your support and for joining us in this meaningful initiative. Your generosity and involvement are greatly appreciated!
